Cycling Fitness Test

A combination of tests to help you improve your cycling

  1. FTP
    We will carry out a cycling Functional Threshold Power test which although is classed as a 20min test actually takes an hour to complete. This will give you your optimal power and heart rate values along with lactate threshold and maximum heart rate levels. This is the go-to-test for indicating power and training levels.
  2. Body Composition
    We wil test you body composition including: body fat, lean tissue, water levels, body mass index (BMI), body weight, basal metabolic rate (BMR) and metabolic age. The body composition test will also give you an indication of lean tissue for each limb which may help to indicate muscle imbalance.
  3. Biomechanical
    We will also provide an overall postural and mechanical assessment. This will look at aspects of your biomechanics and indicate functional movements and flexibility.
  4. Cardiovascular
    We will check your resting blood pressure and exercise blood pressure, resting heart rate, maximum testing heart rate. These tests will give you a good indication of your health and fitness levels.
  5. Blood Tests
    We will test your overall blood cholesterol level, blood lipid levels, blood sugar level and during the FTP test your lactate levels to check your exercise blood lactate threshold. By checking your blood lactate levels we can compare them with your power and heart rate values to give you a better idea of your training zones.
  6. Training Values
    The results of your tests will give you comprehensive details of your present fitness levels and what power and heart rate levels you should be working at when out on the bike. The results will also shows areas where you can improve your overall fitness and health. The tests will take approximately 2 hours to complete and costs £150.00
